Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy is the application of energy to increase the bodies  natural ability to heal itself.

ULTRASOUND: Tendon,ligament and muscular injuries.

LASER: for wound healing. Blue laser has been proven to kill bacteria while red laser aids healing with minimal scarring. Laser aids the healing of Mud fever and bacterial infections, skin irritations, wounds, proud flesh, muscle, ligament and tendon injuries.

PULSED MAGNETIC FIELD THERAPY: Works with the bodies own magnetic fields to promote healing. It is fantastic for muscle, tendon and ligament injuries as well as fracture healing and orthopedic conditions. The advantage of PMFT is that it can penetrate through casts and bandages so they need not be removed for this therapy to be applied.

What Can Be Treated

Physiotherapy

Hands on therapies include soft tissue mobilisation, massage, myofascial release, trigger point, stretches and joint mobilisation. These techniques are often used in conjunction with electrotherapies to gain optimum results.

Programmes can be tailored to your animals needs whether its post injury, post operative or maintenance treatments to keep your animals fit and healthy. Muscle and gait re-education can be a slow road but with ongoing support and a plan to follow great results can be achieved.

Post injury/operative rehabilitation programmes are designed around the individual patient. These programmes may include simple exercises that can be continued at home by the owner between  physiotherapy treament visits.
